Social media marketing built around demand, not the calendar

Social media marketing builds recognition among people who are not yet searching for what you sell. It works by identifying the formats your audience already watches, producing them consistently enough for the platform to learn who to show them to, and answering the messages that result. It is a demand-creation channel, so it is measured on reach, saves, shares and assisted enquiries rather than on direct sales.

Posting on a schedule is not a strategy, and a content calendar full of one-off ideas is just a schedule with more steps. What works is a small number of repeatable formats, produced often enough that both the algorithm and the audience know what to expect from you. Most brands that feel stuck on social are not short of ideas — they are short of a format worth repeating.

  • Format-first, not calendar-first
  • Malayalam and English production
  • In-house edit team
  • Community managed daily

Is this you?

Signs you need social media marketing

  • Your competitors are recognised locally and you are not
  • You post consistently and nothing travels beyond your existing followers
  • Your feed looks like a noticeboard of offers and announcements
  • Enquiries arrive through DMs and nobody has a system for handling them
  • You are paying to reach people who should already know who you are
  • Your best content is a founder talking, and it happens only by accident

What you get

What our social media marketing work covers

  • Channel and format strategy

Which platforms deserve your budget, what each is for, and — more usefully — what you should stop doing to fund the ones that work. Most brands are spread across five platforms and effective on none.

  • Content production

Short-form video, carousels, motion graphics and photography, produced and edited in-house. Keeping production in one team is what makes a monthly volume of assets sustainable rather than a scramble.

  • Community management

Daily replies, DMs routed to whoever can actually answer them, and a tone-of-voice guide so the brand sounds like one organisation. On Instagram and WhatsApp the conversation after the post is often where the sale happens.

  • Creator partnerships

Regional creators vetted on audience quality rather than follower count, briefed properly, and measured on saves, shares and enquiries rather than reach alone.

  • Paid amplification

Organic posts that already earn attention get budget behind them. Everything else is treated as a test rather than a candidate for spend, which keeps the media budget attached to evidence.

  • Reporting that predicts revenue

Saves and shares indicate that content was worth keeping. Follower growth indicates it was worth returning for. DM volume indicates intent. Those three predict commercial outcomes; likes do not, and we do not lead reports with them.

How we run it

The order we work in

  1. Listen

What your audience already follows, which accounts hold their attention, and where the gap sits. This is research into the feed your customers actually see, not into your competitors' press releases.

  2. Design formats

Three to five repeatable formats rather than a list of individual post ideas. A format can be produced under pressure, taught to someone new, and improved over time. A one-off idea cannot.

  3. Produce in batches

Monthly shoot days and fast edits, keeping a content bank roughly a month ahead of publication. Consistency is the mechanism by which social works, and consistency requires a buffer.

  4. Engage

Publishing is half the job. Replies, DMs and comment threads are where a follower becomes an enquiry, and they need a person and a process rather than good intentions.

  5. Cut and double down

Formats that flatline after a fair run are killed. Formats that travel get more production time and paid support. Most accounts improve faster from stopping things than from adding them.

Building category visibility for an AI travel booking platform

Eight target terms reached the first page of Google within six months, from a domain with no organic history and in a category dominated by incumbents. Those positions are worth roughly 1,100 organic clicks a month. ChatGPT now cites the site as a source for four of the category questions we track — visibility that did not exist when the programme started, and that no ranking report would have captured.

Questions

Social Media Marketing questions we are asked most

How often should a business post on social media?

Consistency matters more than volume: three to five well-made posts a week generally outperforms daily filler, because the platform learns from engagement rate rather than post count. For short-form video, four to five pieces a week is the point at which most accounts start to see compounding reach.

Which language should we post in?

Whichever your audience actually uses, which is not always the official language of the market. In multilingual markets, local-language creative routinely outperforms English for consumer categories while English wins for B2B and professional services. Test rather than assume, and run separate creative for each rather than translating one into the other.

Do we need to appear on camera?

It helps significantly — founder-led and staff-led content consistently outperforms brand-voice content, because people trust a face more than a logo. That said, product, process and customer-story formats work without anyone from the business appearing.

How long before social media produces enquiries?

Expect three to six months of consistent publishing before reach compounds meaningfully, and treat anything earlier as a bonus. Social is a demand-creation channel: it makes your name familiar so that when someone does search, they choose you. If you need enquiries this month, paid search is the right instrument.

Is a follower count worth anything?

On its own, very little. A 50,000-follower account with no saves, no shares and no DMs is a vanity asset. What matters commercially is whether content reaches people outside your existing followers, and whether it produces conversations. Both are measurable and neither is follower count.

Do you handle the photography and video shoots?

For clients within travelling distance, yes — we shoot on location and edit in-house. For clients further afield we work from footage you capture to our brief, or direct a local crew remotely. Either way the edit stays in one team, which is what keeps monthly volume sustainable.
